Traction

In the treatment of peyronie's disease, the non-surgical approach with the most scientific basis behind it, is traction therapy. Using this method, the device is attached to the penis and a light stretch is applied. When performed for between 2 hours+ (up to 8 hours maximum) per day, very significant improvements have been seen resulting in the reduction of curvature, hinging and so on.

One of the most respected doctors in the field of peyronie's, Dr. Laurence A. Levine of Urology Specialists of Chicago, is a big proponent of traction therapy, and carried out a study using a traction device. He noted that "clinical trials of the device indicate that significant (10-45 degrees) improvement in curvature is achievable and that larger scale trials are therefore justified."

This relatively new method of remodelling scar tissue appears to be something that works for those with the tenacity to stick with it. When using traction it can be helpful to take measurements every month and log improvement over the course of treatment. This should help motivate you throughout the process. It's important not to walk before you can crawl. Remember that this is an incremental approach which brings results over time.

Penile traction is certainly a useful and proven approach to improving your condition, and should be given serious consideration as it's a valuable and conservative treatment (compared to surgery). There is now a peyronie's disease specific version of the AndroPenis device:

Traction devices may also be useful in individuals with congenital curvature, which is not the result of penile injury. The principle is similiar in that tissue can be stretched over time.
